Samsung Galaxy Fold vs Huawei Mate X
We compared the Samsung Galaxy Fold, which was introduced
the other day, and Huawei Mate X, which was promoted as part of the MWC 2019
event yesterday. Here are the mixed features of the two models
1- Design
Both phones brought a different competition to the
smartphone market with their foldable screens. While the Galaxy Fold notched
screen appears as a design, the Huawei Mate X does not have a notch design.
Galaxy Fold; While it has 4 different color options: silver,
blue, black and green, its rival Mate X has only a blue color option.
Both foldable phones have a fingerprint reader embedded in the screen.
2- Screen
The Galaxy Fold has a 7.3-inch Super AMOLED display and a
1536 × 2152 pixel screen resolution when fully open. When the phone is folded,
it has a 4.6 inch screen and 840 × 1960 pixel resolution. Galaxy Fold has 420
ppi on both screens.
While the Mate X is completely open, it has an 8 inch OLED
screen and a resolution of 2480 × 2200 pixels. When the phone is folded, it has
two different screens, namely 6.6 inches 2480 × 1148 pixels and 6.38 inches
2480 × 892 pixels.
We see that Huwaei foldable phone Mate X has a bigger screen
and higher screen resolution than its rival Galaxy Fold.
3- Hardware
Galaxy Fold, powered by Snapdragon 855 processor, has 12 GB
of RAM memory and 512 GB of internal memory. The foldable phone also has an
8-core 2.84 GHz processor speed. However, Galaxy Fold does not support SD card.
Huawei Mate X takes the day from the Kirin 980 processor.
The phone, which has 8 GB RAM memory and 512 GB internal memory, can be
increased by 256 GB since the phone has SD card support. In addition, the Mate
X has an eight-core 2.60 GHz processor speed.
Let's not mention that Huawei Mate X also supports 5G
technology. It holds the title of “World's first 5G-supported foldable phone”.
4- Camera
We see that Samsung is very generous with the Galaxy Fold
about the camera. There are 3 different lenses on the back panel of the phone.
The first is the ultra-wide-angle lens with 16 MP f / 2.4 aperture, the second
is the wide-angle lens with 12 MP f / 1.5 aperture, and the third is the
telephoto lens with 12 MP f / 2.4 aperture.
On the front panel, there is a 10 MP f / 2.2 lens camera
used when the phone is folded, and a 10 MP f / 2.2 and 8 MP f / 1.9 aperture
camera used when the screen is on.
Huawei Mate X has 3 cameras with a different design. The
first is the main lens with 40 MP f / 1.8 aperture, the second is the
wide-angle lens with 16 MP f / 2.2 aperture, and the third is the telephoto
lens with 8 MP f / 2.4 aperture.
For Galaxy Fold, there are 6 cameras in total, while Mate X
only uses 3 cameras on the back panel. However, it should not be forgotten that
the main camera has a resolution of 40 MP.
5- Battery
The Samsung Galaxy Fold has a battery of 4380 mAh, while the
Huawei Mate X has a battery of 4500 mAh. Both retractable phones support fast
charging and wireless charging. However, we can say that Huawei Mate X is very
successful in fast charging. Because 85 percent of the battery can be charged
in just 30 minutes.
6- Price
While the international price of Galaxy Fold is $ 1980, the
foreign price of Mate X is determined as $ 2600. In terms of price, Huawei
seems to burn a bit more pocket than its competitor. Huawei Mate has a price
tag of $ 620 more than its competitor.
As a result; Both foldable phone models have top design and
performance. However, we can say that Galaxy Fold is one step ahead of its
competitor Mate X in terms of performance. Regarding the price, let's also
point out that Mate X is much more than its rival Galaxy Fold.
